Drama by Design were by Westminster College the appointed Theatre Consultants; their brief being to design and specify the technical requirements for the Colleges new Theatre, Drama Studio and internal Radio Station prior to the appointment of a theatre contractor to carry out the supply and installation.
The contract for the supply and installation of Theatre Sound, Lighting, Audio Visual Systems and Drapes was awarded to LSI Projects by The City of Westminster College for the Theatre, Drama Studio and Radio Station within their new £107 million, 23,200 square metre campus facility.
THEATRE SYSTEMS INSTALLED:
The sound system as designed, and installed provides sound reinforcement for the complete theatre space when it is used as either a traditional style theatre, lecture theatre or cinema, in addition to which there is a separate mobile sound system to accommodate a stage/drama studio when the main area is partitioned into two.
The Audio Visual systems included a Lectern including integral facilities panel, Touch Screen control system, Projectors, Visualiser, Screens and Media server.
This included an infra red hard of Hearing system, Intercom, Page and Show relay and Video show relay system.
The lighting system included a various manufacturers products but principally ETC for the control desks and dimmers, Selecon for the main luminaires, Follow Spots by Robert Juliat and Moving Lights from Robe.
Included within the college’s facilities is a Radio Studio for use within the college’s campus. Though small, the systems are of professional quality and include a mixing console, computer, CD player, microphones and monitoring facilities.
The Westminster New College Theatre and Radio Studio Fit – out was another successful turnkey project where LSI’s expertise in the disciplines of Theatre Sound, Lighting, Audio Visual Systems and Drapes enabled the project to be completed on time and on budget.
